Crop Circles 2010Why Go On A Crop Circle Tour?

Simple really. Because it can be the adventure of a lifetime. Crop circles are still a phenomenon at the edge of science. No one knows exactly why the have such weird effects on cameras, batteries, and equipment. But I've seen these effects summer after summer out in the crop circle fields. In one case in the Devil's Den formation at Fyfield Down, 1999, I saw three separate devices, including a GPS device fail within a few seconds of entering crop circle.

Many people have experienced this over the years. I used to think these tales of camera malfunction were just the stuff of urban legends until it happened to my own cameras in 1998. The slide film rewound on its own twice and when developed, some of slides looked overexposed and excessively blurry.

I was involved in making a small, experimental circle in Kansas, 2002, and many of the slides from that
event turned out awfully strange looking, for no known reason. See the Kansas crop circle pictures here.

Crop circle visitors can often experience this weirdness for themselves, firsthand. For this reason, I advise
you not to bring your expensive cameras into the circles if you have less dear alternatives. Numerous camera
crews have experience camera failure/destruction with professional equipment costing tens of thousands of dollars.

Talking with the National Geographic film crew, on assignment near Silbury Hill last summer, they told me
they experienced unexplained battery failure a few weeks before on their main camera, and had to call headquarters in London for instructions how to get it started again, even after they had inserted a fresh battery.

Other phenomena associated with crop circles include anomalous balls of light, UFOs, and other strange light phenomena. A ball of light seen and filmed over East Field, Wiltshire, U.K. in 1990 was seen to pass over a tractor which then promptly stalled.

We don't understand why all this unexplained activity happens around crop circles. But visitors are often present when they do, which makes for an unparalleled adventure into the unknown. Whether the crop formations are made by UFOs, balls of light, or people, the magic abounds. For more information, visit the Crop Circle Tours website.
